Handy handbag tips.

Women have a love affair with handbags but if you tend to leave it somewhere where you are not — in a shopping cart while you turn your back, or on your desk while you walk down the hall — you are setting yourself up for theft. The blame always lies with the attacker but we are responsible for being proactive about our own safety.

Some handy handbag tips:

• A large or more expensive bag is a more likely target as it appears to contain more valuables. 
• Carry only what you need for where you are going (can you even recall everything you have in your bag right now?). 
• Be willing to give your bag and yell. 
• If you feel unsafe, carry or hold the strap in your hand to give you better grip.
